When Conneaut gets muddy, one has to consider where exactly the rain/snow dumped. If its upstream, it can take days. If it hits just/most Ohio side, 2.5 days max. You really and I suggest getting a guide because it is easy to pass up areas that don't seem to have fish. Plenty of time on the rivers will show patches of river that are very productive. Ohio side is surrounded by forestland. There are so many turkey that I shoud bring my shotgun to thin them out. It is one of the prettiest rivers in the state, period. You can drift it winter to spring with a canoe/pontoon boats and is the best way to reach private waters. Hiking is also a great option because access is fair.
