The Grandaddy of All Ohio Steelhead Rivers

The Grand River is a tributary of Lake Erie, 102.7 mi (165.3 km) long, in northeastern Ohio in the United States. It rises in southeastern Geauga County and initially flows eastwardly into Trumbull County. Downstream of West Farmington it turns northward into Ashtabula County, where it passes the village of Rock Creek and then turns westward into Lake County, where it passes the communities of Painesville and Grand River before flowing into Lake Erie at Fairport Harbor. It is the largest steelhead river in Ohio. Its headwaters flow through fertile farmland making it the longest river to drop into fishing shape. It too is a Scenic River and has lots of wildlife like osprey, freshwater clams, and otters. It is the best river to float anything smaller than a 14ft drift boat and the best way to reach long stretches of nothing.
