Access is great due to the many metropark areas and public lands that fill the gaps. If you love to spread out and hike it, the Grand is for you. It has forest land and rural lands, so it feels more like a country fishing atmosphere. To consistently catch fish here, fish it during the summer when the water levels are low. Thus giving the angler a better understanding of the river's stucture and bottom composition. You can fish any method and catch fish (pin fishing being best) and it is the best river to swing streamers. My fishing buddies and I have a saying: go no where else if the Grand is in shape. This has proven true 9/10 times. If you have the chance and time, float the river with a buddy for the afternoon. It is the most enjoyable ways to fish the big daddy of the east.
